Best Tool Demo Award at ICSME 2020
Teddy won the Best Tool Demo Award at ICSME 2020, the 36th IEEE International Conference on Software Maintenance and Evolution, which CORE ranks A. Pythonic code follows the idioms of the Python community, and novice programmers can find it hard to learn. Teddy checks how a project uses Pythonic idioms in two ways, by recommending idioms during code review and by scanning the project's history for idiomatic and non-idiomatic code, with interactive visualizations. Our undergraduate students Purit Phan-udom, Naruedon Wattanakul, and Tattiya Sakulniwat built it as a senior project that grew from internships at the Software Engineering Laboratory of NAIST, advised by Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul and Thanwadee Sunetnanta.
The tool also reached the poster round of the National Software Contest (NSC 2020).
