Lessons learned with Thai software SMEs

On 22 June 2022, SERU hosted “Where Are We and Where Should We Go? Software Quality Improvement for Software SMEs in Thailand”, a session that shared the lessons of our Newton Fund project with the Thai software industry. Representatives of our four industry partners, ProGaming, CourseSquare, Zwiz.AI, and Roots, spoke in a panel discussion about bringing automated software engineering tools such as SonarQube and unit testing frameworks into their development. Adoption was not easy and met many obstacles, but all four companies found the tools useful and planned to build on them. The session ran on site with JCSSE 2022 at Silpakorn University's Wang Tha Phra campus in Bangkok and online through Zoom and Facebook Live.

We thank the JCSSE 2022 organizers for the venue and their support, PROEN for the internet connection, and the multimedia team of the Faculty of ICT, who ran the onsite, Zoom, and Facebook Live parts without a glitch. SERU undergraduate and PhD students helped run the event.
