Two internship papers accepted at APSEC 2022
Tasha Settewong and Natanon Ritta, our interns at the Software Engineering Laboratory of NAIST, each had a paper accepted in the Early Research Achievements (ERA) track of APSEC 2022, the 29th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference. Both papers study the Jupyter notebooks of Grandmasters, the highest rank of competitors on Kaggle. Tasha's paper catalogs the visualizations that seven Grandmasters use, with nine types drawn from 821 visualizations in 68 notebooks. Natanon's paper looks at how competitors reuse their own code and finds that Grandmasters tend to reuse common code, such as package imports, configurations, and plotting, rather than specialized code. Both students presented their work online at the conference in December 2022.
