Registered report accepted at MSR 2023

“Mining the Characteristics of Jupyter Notebooks in Data Science Projects” was accepted as a registered report at MSR 2023, the 20th International Conference on Mining Software Repositories, which CORE ranks A. It builds on the graduation project of our senior students Tasha Settewong, Urisayar Kaewpichai, and Vacharavich Jiravatvanich, and Morakot Choetkiertikul and Apirak Hoonlor led the team. The study plans to compare high-voted Jupyter notebooks on Kaggle with popular data science notebooks on GitHub. It will use exploratory analysis, data visualization, and feature importance to find the patterns and good practices that separate high-voted notebooks from low-voted ones. The insights could guide aspiring data scientists who want to move from a novice notebook on Kaggle to a project that can be deployed on GitHub.
