Thai tool adoption study accepted in EMSE
Our paper “Adoption of Automated Software Engineering Tools and Techniques in Thailand” was accepted in Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE), a Q1 journal. It looks at how aware Thai small and medium-sized software companies are of automated software engineering tools, how far they adopt them, and what challenges they meet, for software measurement, static code analysis, continuous integration, and software testing. We surveyed 103 Thai developers across four groups. The main challenges were a lack of knowledge and experience, long build times in continuous integration, and an emphasis on development over testing. The paper is the second publication of the Newton Fund project “Automated Software Engineering for Thailand Software Industry”, a collaboration between CREST at UCL and SERU since 2018.
