jscefr accepted at ICSME 2024

Our paper on jscefr was accepted in the Tool Demo track of ICSME 2024. jscefr, pronounced jes-cee-fer, is the work of our undergraduate students Komsan Kongwongsupak, Thanakrit Maneesawas, and Natpichsinee Puttiwarodom, with support from Ruksit Rojpaisarnkit, Morakot Choetkiertikul, Raula Gaikovina Kula, and Thanwadee Sunetnanta. The tool detects the elements of JavaScript used in a piece of code and estimates the proficiency needed to understand and maintain it. Based on the pycefr tool and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), it classifies 138 JavaScript code constructs into six levels. The team applied it to three JavaScript projects from the npm ecosystem.
