Thai tool adoption study in the ICSME 2025 Journal-First track
Our EMSE study on how software companies in Thailand adopt automated software engineering tools was accepted in the Journal-First track of ICSME 2025, the International Conference on Software Maintenance and Evolution. The study asked how small and medium-sized software enterprises adopt tools for software measurement, static code analysis, continuous integration, and software testing. Based on a survey of 103 Thai developers, it found that developers are generally familiar with these tools and see their benefits. A lack of knowledge or experience holds back measurement and static analysis tools, continuous integration is used with some difficulty, and manual testing remains common. We call for easier tools that lower the barrier for such companies in developing countries.
